For this Throwback Thursday I want to take you back to one of my favorite moments in Bulldog history.
This was October 27, 2007, and it was when the Bulldogs faced off in their annual matchup at the Georgia-Florida game in Jacksonville. Florida came in ranked number 9 in the country, and Georgia came in ranked number 20.
It was clear this would be a huge matchup in terms of SEC East standings, and bragging rights. It was shaping up to be a barnburner but nobody expected this to happen:
And everyone knows what happened next. The Dawgs rolled over Florida to win 42-30, behind Knowshon Moreno’s 188 yards and 3 touchdowns, and great play by Matthew Stafford who had three touchdowns of his own.
It was a huge win for the Dawgs as they rallied from there and ended up playing in the Sugar Bowl, where they almost mercy-ruled Hawaii (who more than likely wished the mercy rule existed in college football). The whole thing was magical.
Oh, and let’s not forget the best part. How stupid and perplexed Tebow looked as it happened:
Almost as great as when he cried while losing to Alabama.
