National Signing Day. It’s a crazy time in all of our lives where grown men will drop everything that they are doing just to see what an 18 year old boy will do with the next three to four years of their lives…. and it is EPIC.

For me personally, this is like another opening day. There is so much optimism that you place on your team, and so much hope. It’s an unbelievable experience. One which I call out sick for EVERY year. Does that make me lame? I sure as hell think not, and I can guarantee you that most of my kinfolk in Dawg Nation will be giving it a watch.

That being said, one of the biggest build ups to NSD is the projected decisions by people like me, on where these kids will attend school. I plan on giving you my picks on where the top national targets will sign, and on where the top Georgia targets will sign, because let’s face it, I’m a Dawg and always will be a Dawg.

So without further ado, here’s what I’m thinking happens:

Top National Players:

Currently, there are 14 “uncommitted” prospects who are rated in the top 100. I say uncommitted, because I think I know where a few may be headed. I took two off of here, because it is a potential UGA target. Here’s my take on each of the others:

Marvin Wilson–

  • LSU.- Coach O has his first big “get” as a head coach. Ohio State fans are way too overconfident, and I think it comes down to him just wanting to stay close to home and his momma. Gotta respect the decision, kids gonna be a hell of a player in Death Valley.

Jay Tufele–

  • USC. Ohio State “insiders” also claim he’s coming to them. He’s not. Get over it. The more shocking thing is that he would leave Utah and his family to head to Southern California, but with storied history that program has, and the hype behind it currently, who would turn down staying in Southern Cal for four years?

Jeff Thomas–

  • Miami. Illinois boy heading down South to play in some warmer weather in Coral Gables. Don’t blame him one bit and think he’ll make Mark Richt very happy.

Devonta Smith–

  • LSU. Remember this former Georgia commit who snubbed the Dawgs already, but then got absolutely BODIED by Richard LeCounte during the Army All-American practice? Yeah, I do and he’s going to the SEC West. He better hope LeConte doesn’t get a shot at him within the next four years. Might embarrass the boy out there.

LaBryan Ray–

  • Alabama. Sorry Gators, this is just another disappointment in the saga that you call your 2017 recruiting class. I mean does anybody honestly think that Saban is gonna let the NUMBER ONE RECRUIT IN THE STATE OF ALABAMA get away?! GTFOH. It’s shocking he hasn’t committed yet, although I do think he’s a silent commit, but that’s just me.

Joseph Lewis–

  • USC. I hate this “Callibraska” bullshit movement. It’s a stupid made-up word, by stupid people (looking at you Cornhusker fans). That being said, it’s another big get for USC as they get Lewis to stay in LA…. Cue the Snoop!

Deommodore Lenoir–

  • Oregon. Top rated athlete in college football? Not too shabby. Seems like the perfect fit for Oregon right? Right. He’ll end up there, no surprise though, as everyone has him going there.

Willie Gay–

  • LSU. Just an absolute back-breaker for Mississippi State and Dan Mullen. Local kid going to another team in the SEC West?! Believe it. Coach O starting this term out on a rolllllll.

Austin Jackson–

  • USC. He’s pretty much been committed to USC since this whole thing started. Expect the Phoenix kid to snub the forks and go to LA. He’s another one I feel has always been a silent commit.

Levi Jones–

  • Florida State. USC thinks that they’ll get this LB, but he just had an amazing visit in Florida State, which was just what the Noles needed. Figure him to stay locked in to them and to be headed to T Town shortly.

Chevin Calloway

  • Arkansas. He snubbed Iowa by a decommitment, and now is headed for hog heaven. Expect the folks in Fayetteville to be chanting WPS when this kid makes it official.

Danny Davis

  • Wisconsin. Badger. Badger. Badger. Badger. Badger. Badger. Badger. Mushroo….. Ok that’s enough. Kid’s a badger lock. Now on to the Dawgs:

UGA Targets:

This is something I’ve dreamed of for a long time. Georgia has a top 3 recruiting class in the country GOING IN to National Signing Day, and it would be almost impossible for us to lose that ranking, especially with Wyatt during up his commitment earlier this evning. Because of this, almost NOTHING could disappoint me now, but here’s how I think it all plays out:

Aubrey Solomon–

  • Michigan. It sucks to admit it but I don’t feel the smoke surrounding this one is anything substantial. At one time, I thought that AS was a lock for the Dawgs but the closer we get, the more and more it sounds like he’s another Derrick Brown who will snub us on NSD. Look for him to go to Harbaugh, and excuse me while I vomit everywhere.

Elijah Blades–

  • Nebraska. Happy that he ditched the Gators, but the fact that I have to retype Callibraska? Ugh. Yup….. I’m done with this.

Ameer Speed

  • Georgia. Clear the way Dawg Nation. This kid is all Dawg and is coming to Don the black and red. Some of you may be concerned with the lack of star caliber, as he only has three stars, but don’t fret. CKS knows what he’s doing, and a 6’3” corner fits our system VERY well.

Tedarrell Slaton

  • Florida. Hate to admit it, but the visit to us was all smoke and no substance. This kid is all Gator, which means we will all have to hate him for years to come. You had one job Slaton. Way to fuck this one up.

Larrell Murchison–

  • Georgia. HOTTY TODDY GOSH’ALL MIGHTY MURCHISON’S A DAWG. LOVE this late flip, and so happy we’re bringing this Big Dawg in. Will be an immediate help, and is a great steal late in the recruiting cycle. Just a shame Ole Miss didn’t have any of that extra cash to throw his way. Ain’t it funny what happens when the NCAA is watching you? Recruiting classes just seem to fall off…. Hmmmm….

Leonard Warner

  • Florida State. Too much hype too late to FSU. I honestly think that we wanted this kid but just didn’t have enough room. Tough luck and I hope the best for him.

Markaviest Bryant

  • LSU. Think we also wanted the Big Cat, but think that Coach O pulled one out of his hat with the latest visit. GREAT get for the Tigers and Coach O.

Latavious Brini

  • Georgia. Gonna be a perfect fit for the Dawgs, getting another big CB. Some will hate him, just like Speed because of his three star rating, but as I said earlier CKS knows what he’s doing. Have faith Dawg Nation.

Jamyest Williams

  • South Carolina. I think this one really boiled down to JW wanting to be “the man” which is something South Carolina can definitely give to him. Sucks he’d rather that than win championships, but hey can’t fault the kid there.

Nico Collins–

  • Michigan. I am REALLY gonna hate Harbaugh after today. I mean I already can’t stand the guy, but to take two recruits from us on NSD? He’s lucky they won’t jump us in ratings, or else I may have to do something drastic.

Well there you have it, I know some may be a little down on those signings, but it is what it is. Georgia will STILL have the number three class in CFB for the class of 2017, and it is probably the best class in Georgia history. You can’t hate on that. That being said, I’ve also heard there may be an unexpected addition to UGA’s signees, not sure what the hell that means, or who it will be but keep all eyes peeled ladies and gents.

Go Dawgs.
