So my prediction that Adrian Peterson would become a New York Giant took an interesting turn yesterday as Peterson tweeted out the following:
Hmmm… We did just release Rashad Jennings… and our rushing attack was absolute doo doo butter last year… and while I have attributed most of that to our offensive line, I also don’t think either Bobby Rainey or Paul Perkins should be our feature running back next year. Hmmm…
Signing AP would take a bit of compromise from both sides. The Giants would need to run more (which we probably should anyways)… that’s fine. On the other side, AP would need to take a short term deal and a bit of a pay-cut. And he would also need to accept that he’s on a pass heavy team (which he may or may not like). But an offense with AP in the backfield and Odell & Shepard as our receivers is quite the threat.
All I’m saying is a free agent is publicly commenting on another franchise’s moves before he himself has his future set with his own team??
So the real question is… Does this really mean we’re landing AP?
OF COURSE WE ARE!!! AND he’s going to run for 2,000 yards behind a revamped offensive line. AND that will open up the passing game for Eli & Odell, so everyone can focus on fun and football, and not Odell & his kicking net.
This is GREAT… Thank god someone took my attention off the Knicks and all their misery for a split second.
AP, let me be the first to say – welcome to the Big Blue!!
