New York Red Bulls: 1
Colorado Rapids: 0

It was not a pretty day in Harrison. A very cold and shitty day. As a super fan, I was at the arena at 7 am for a 4 pm kickoff time, and it was difficult going just having to deal with the wind, partial snow and a little sun. Alas, with six layers and flavored Red Bull, anything is possible.

Timmy Howard, returning to New Jersey always is going to be a special affair. Our American international started off with the Metrostars back in his youth before moving to Manchester United. Well, you guessed it, he had a MONSTER game. Howard was denying BWP (Bradley Wright-Phillips) like a supermodel denies a drunk in his midlife crisis.

Das Rasen Bullen were only able to sneak an own goal by Howard but let’s not miss count its importance. Royer once again was a force that pushed the opposing defense into terrible play. This Austrian is going to have a breakout year. My only concern is that we sell him for a decent amount of cash to some European side.

Last week I complained about Veron, who is probably out for the season. I also stated that we needed a new striker, and management listened. Fredrik Gulbrandsen from Finland is added to the squad. He’s no German but I think he’ll work just fine. Between him and Ettiene Jr rotating in the second striker role the world will open up for BWP. I predict the switching strikers will be fresher more efficient situation from when Henry was here. No longer do we have the “Star” power but I believe in the youth. Much better start than last year gentlemen, 2-0.
