When we started this website about a year ago (Jesus, it’s been that long), we didn’t really know what we wanted to do with it. It was a site that Miller, Ketch & I wanted to write some blogs for and post some bro-casts (for a brief time, I believe that’s what we wanted to call our Podcasts), and for a while that was basically it.

I personally was still on the job hunt last year and every job I really “wanted” in the writing world (ok, mostly writing for Barstool) asked for a portfolio of stuff that I had written – of which I had none because I wasn’t a nerd who kept a booklet of shit I had written. Sure, I had some funny emails and floating around, but nothing that I’d be able to show anyone to be like, “Oh yeah, I can write!”

So, that’s kind of how this all started and it turned into something WAY bigger at the beginning of 2017.

Luckily a few stories hit. We created a Facebook page to help advertise what we got going on. We picked up some new writers. And we have some recurring segments that have pretty solid followings (solid enough that I believe it’s a worthwhile idea to pay to promote our site at least).

But here’s the thing – we need more contents and more posts. We have a pretty diverse crew of guys and what their interests are, but even still we miss on some stuff.

For example, there are about two more things I want to post about today and another recurring segment I want to develop, buuuuut we have nobody to do it.

So, if you are interested, we are looking for writers (or “bloggers” – whatever you want to call yourself) to post on WHATEVER your little heart desries. If you think something could be funny, or relevant to the site and how we do things, by all means send it my way. I don’t want a resume with your GPA and where you went to school, I don’t really care. I just want you to write how YOU write, in your voice and send it my way.

Send your stuff to watercoolersports12@gmail.com and I’ll review them. As long as they aren’t complete trash, I’ll post them. If they are complete trash, we’ll polish them up with you (OR just make you funnier).

At the end of the day, whatever posts you write could potentially be YOUR portfolio for a resume, or a writing job in the future. And shit, if you write a post and find out, “Damn, this sucks – I will NEVER do that again!” – hey, at least you learned it now!
