Let me say this loud and clear: I HATE THE NEW YORK YANKEES.  Friday night and into Saturday morning when I heard that the Yankees were on Stanton’s list, I knew it was fucking over.  I had seen this song and dance too many fucking times and knew that it meant that the Yankees were going to get Stanton.  Granted it had been a while, but history always repeats itself.  I remember A-Rod, I remember Teixeira, and now I will always remember Stanton.

What makes me want to puke is was the Red Sox Twitter sucking the Yankees’ dicks after getting Stanton.

I’m not looking for the Sox PR to come out with a huge FUCK YOU @NYYANKEES, but just ignore it.  Just fucking ignore it, like apparently our goddamn GM did with Giancarlo Stanton in general.

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME???  I may be in the minority, but I genuinely thought the Red Sox were pursuing and had a legitimate chance to get Stanton.  And let me tell you, seeing this tweet was just the kick in the dick I needed on Monday morning.  Hey Dombrowski, how was the Red Sox power numbers last year?  Oh?  Dog shit??  Hey Dombrowski, who was the best power hitter in baseball last year who is somehow on the trading block?  Oh Giancarlo Stanton?  Okay sweet, uhh hey Dombrowski, how about making a run at Giancarlo Stanton? ………………………………………………………………………………. …………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Nothing?  Uhh okay so you’re going to go after JD Martinez at least right?

Excuse me???? So let me get this shit straight:  You didn’t go after Stanton, then said you’d prefer to trade for an impact bat instead of “waiting out” for JD Martinez?  THEN WHY THE HELL DIDN’T YOU AT LEAST TRY TO TRADE FOR STANTON, DAVE??? What fucking planet am I on?  And the price tag the Yankees paid for Stanton?  Shit, the Red Sox have one decent starter and two shitty prospects to give away too!  $265 mil is nothing for a big market franchise so who the hell cares about that.

I am baffled.  Just baffled.  I’m an oddball and am a Knicks, Red Sox, and Giants fan.  How is it that the NEW YORK KNICKS are appearing to be the most competent of my teams?  Riddle me that!

I guess what I’m saying is I wish Dombrowski at least made an attempt.  At least give me the old quarterback trying to tackle a linebacker on an interception try.

But anyways, why is this the worst thing for Yankees haters?  Well, you see, I’ve been of the belief that the Aaron Judge will likely regress a little bit next year, as will Gary Sanchez for that matter.  Judge will still have his power, because he’s just a really powerful human, but you could see it in the second half that teams were starting to figure him out at the plate.  It’s not unheard of that rookies who come out the gate hot their first year take a step back their next year as there’s more information and tape on them, especially in this age of analytics.  Here’s a few examples:

Trevor Story of the Rockies (we’ll see how he bounces back after an underwhelming 2017)

Michael Conforto of the Mets (had an All Star 2017 before an injury ended his season early, but was even sent down to Triple A in 2016 because couldn’t hit.  Hopefully he comes back strong in 2018 as he’s got one of the nicest swings in the game)

Jason Heyward of the now Cubs, then Braves (guy was supposed to be the second coming, and has turned into a solid player)

I picked those three because they all were pretty highly touted, and came into the League on fire, but all clearly regressed.  If I had to guess, before this trade I could have seen Judge slashing .240/.315/.425 with 35-40-ish homers, obviously a solid season, but a bit of step back.

Now though?  We’ll he’s gonna have fucking Giancarlo Stanton hitting behind him so it’s going to make pitchers pick their poison.  Pitch to Judge who can hit it 550 feet or pitch to Stanton who can hit it 550 feet?  God damnit.  And yeah then you have Didi who was a .310 hitter and Gary Sanchez who can pop 30 plus bombs too.  I’m getting a headache just thinking about it.

I mean what do Red Sox fans think now?  How can we sleep at night?  Do we tell ourselves there’s only one ball?  No, that doesn’t work for baseball.  Do we say “HAH!  Too many righties in that lineup!” only to remember four out of our five starters are left handed?  I don’t know.  What I do know is that A. Dombrowski better get JD Martinez AND Hosmer/Ozuna/Abreu/solid bat and B. This better light a fucking fire under the asses of Betts, Benintendi, Sale, Price, and company.
