Whoa. Getting a little meta here on a lovely Friday in May. I mean I think just the fact that I’m responding answers the question, doesn’t it? I don’t even have to explicitly spell it out in order for the question to be answered, right? By that I mean I obviously interpret it as a question and, therefore, by even writing this blog “answering” it, I’ve already answered it.
If we go a little deeper into my interpretation of that sentence, I would say that I interpret it as asking how I interpret that very sentence which then would lead me back to wondering about the nature of interpretation and, of course, the English language as a whole. The sentence is itself commenting on its own existence as a sentence, asking for interpretation on what it means which would cause an infinite loop of self-reference: I interpret the sentence as a question that is trying to ascertain how one would interpret this very sentence, which is, of course, a question that is trying to ascertain how one would interpret this very sentence, which is, of course, a question that it trying to ascertain how one would interpret this very sentence…
Fuck now I’m contemplating my own existence and what that really means. I think I’m gonna go lie down.
